The Catholic Archdiocese of Monrovia launched Sis Shirley Kolmer Memorial Catholic School in 1995 to bring quality, Christian-based education to Barnersville's youth. Father Gesslar SMA and the late Archbishop Michael Kpakala Francis were instrumental in its founding. Today, the Marist Brothers collaborate with the Catholic Education Secretariat to manage the school, with four Marist Brothers currently on staff.

The School's core values include love, Devotion, Sacrifice, Family Spirit, Respect, and Discipline.
